William Henry F28 Tuscon 3" Fixed Blade / Black G10 Handle & Turquoise Inlays / Wave Pattern Damascus With VG-10 Core
Product Details

Arizona has many natural wonders, among them the famous Kingman mine that yields some of the finest and most distinctive turquoise in the world. The Tucson features this beautiful Kingman turquoise compressed into a zinc matrix, set into a window in a black G10 composite handle. Fully polished by hand, assembled and dissembled multiple times, this striking handle has an open channel to see thru to the damascus tang. The blade/tang are forged from 67 layers of three alloys, with a core of VG-10 at HRC 60 for optimal sharpness and wear resistance. Finished with a black leather lanyard, sterling silver accents, and includes a sturdy black leather sheath. Go forth in sharp style!

ZINC MATRIX TURQUOISE

TheKingman TurquoiseMine in Arizona is one of the oldest and highest producing Turquoise Mines in America. It was originally discovered by prehistoric Indians well over 1,000 years ago. Kingman Turquoise is known for its beautiful sky blue color and produces many variations of blue Turquoise.
Our Zinc-Matrix Turquoise is made with Kingman Turquoise infused with zinc, creating a striking contrast between the soft blues of the Turquoise and the shiny, contemporary look of the metal.

VG10 DAMASCUS

William Henry’s VG-10 damascus is created from billets with 67 layers of three different alloys. The center, or core, features premium VG-10 stainless steel tempered to an optimal hardness of HRC 60-61 for exceptional sharpness and wear resistance. The core is sandwiched between 33 layers of alternating nickel and steel which we use for tensile strength thru the blade, and to reveal the remarkable forged patterns within the composite alloys in the finished piece of steel. Our final acid etch and hand-polish reveals the tapestry within, as each alloy reacts to the acid and emerges in contrasting tones of black, grey, and silver. Each unique pattern is created by different forging dies used on each sandwiched billet of steel.

G10 COMPOSITE

G-10 is a high-pressure fiberglass laminate. It is created by stacking multiple layers of glass cloth, soaked in epoxy resin, and by compressing the resulting material under heat until the epoxy cures.

G-10 is very similar to Micarta and carbon fiber laminates, except that glass cloth is used as filler material. It is also the toughest of the glass fiber resin laminates.
