The Spyderco Kapara is based on Alistair Phillips’ well known “Redback” custom folder. Alistair Phillips is an Australian custom knife maker who began making knives in 2004. After attending a knifemaking class, he fell in love with building folders in particular. The Kapara was introduced as a collaboration between Phillips and Spyderco in 2018 and was an immediate success.
The DLT Exclusive edition of the Kapara features a 3.5 inch 20CV blade with a full-flat grind for utterly slicey cutting performance. The Kapara is mated with contoured Grey G-10 handle scales over full-length, skeletonized steel liners, showcasing it’s superior ergonomics. The DLT exclusive version keeps the red backspacer - the heart of the Kapara - honoring the roots of the custom. Lock-up is secured by the durable, and easy to use, compression lock, allowing for easy one-handed closing. The Kapara is a slim, lightweight knife with a ton of cutting performance
