Spyderco has asked that we mention the following: The modifications made to these knives are not done by Spyderco and are wholly done in house at Northern Knives. All of these knives will ship with stock hardware if you ever whish to put it fully back to stock or send in for warranty work through Spyderco. The titanium scales, screws and lanyard tube are not made by Spyderco and thus they offer no guarantees to their quality and will not warranty these modified parts provided by Northern Knives.
The Fallen PM2 is built to be strong, durable, and lightweight. Ideal for the ultralight hiker/camper as well as everyday carry use, the PM2 is also an apt tool designed to be included in your EDC kit. With an all new razor-sharp S45VN stainless steel satin blade.
The interesting part of the knife is how much engineering went into designing a knife to cut down on weight without sacrificing much in the name of function. We, in conjunction with ColorfulFilth (Paul Munko) have managed to bring a bit of fun and art to this utilitarian design. Through an inhouse process we were able to not only upgrade the materials of this tool, but have made the scales stouter and while still retaining the light weight using full titanium scales and hardware. The anodized artwork is part of the titanium scales and not merely painted on, while the desert sand in the artwork is a hardwearing ceramic coating known as Cerakote (used on everything from industrial machines, engine pistons and gun parts). This is truly the hardest customization Northern Knives has been tasked with to date. We hope you enjoy owning the knife as much as we did developing this completely unique limited run; we feel the work speaks for itself.
Paul has also outdone himself this time, extending the theme and art to a full color 12 page comic book that will come with every knife, numbered the same as the knife you pre order, signed by Paul and shipped out ahead of the knife to you to act like a certificate of authenticity of sorts.
A word from the artist:
Oh man, it’s been a while since we did this huh? It’s certainly been a long time coming, but I’m hoping you all believe it was worth the wait! It’s hard to believe nearly 3 years ago NK and I announced the Spaced Out Bugout. This time around, we have taken the narrative back to earth, but not without a few visitors hitching a ride from the great unknown.
For The Fallen Military 2, I wanted to do something that fit within its militaristic themes. At the same time, the goal was to throw realism out the window and create imagery that was both in line with the original knife but twisted into something dark, vibrant, and sci-fi.
I really wanted to go above and beyond with this project and provide you all with not only a knife dressed in my artwork, but with a fully drawn graphic novel to explain the story on the scales as well. This graphic novel will function as a collector’s piece as well as your certificate of authenticity, with each piece being numbered in conjunction with the number on your new knife.
It was a lot of work and a lot of fun to put this together with the amazing folks over at Northern Knives. I look forward to hearing what you all think when you get these in hand. As always, thank you for the support!
Ordering Process:
We are doing this as one large offering “Mass Drop Style”. Starting 05/01/2023 we will be taking en mass orders (full price deposit). Ordering will end 06/06/2023. We will order the rest of the materials needed on the end date and continue the customization. All orders will be processed, individually numbered and shipped in the order they are received. Please keep in mind that we will be at the mercy of manufacturers to supply the parts and have no control over delays on their end. However, we have spoken with them ahead of time, and anticipate little to no delays. (hence the PM2 model chosen)
The more orders placed, the cheaper it becomes to produce and we will pass these savings on to you through a refund (refunded back to you to the card you used to make the full deposit with). We have updated our shipping/completion process due to the overwhelming positive response we received from the SpacedOut Bugout collaboration in 2020. We will be continually shipping knives as they are completed, but the more are sold the longer the knives will be constantly shipping out. We will be giving out estimated completion dates based on volume throughout the process to people who pre order, but please remember the closer to the end of the sales period you ordered, the longer your wait will be.
