These Knives were handmade in Texas by Dan Harrison back in the early 1990's. Dan Harrison was great designer and knife maker passed away recently, a huge loss to the knife industry.
Blades are made of premium quality tool and diemaker's stainless steel alloy, triple tempered for optimum hardness and edge-holding qualities, before they're double hollow-ground and polished to a mirror finish. Handles are multiple layers of natural hardwood veneers, pressure-laminated and sealed, similar to Dymondwood. They are then cut along the bias and then individually shaped and finished to fit over the massive full length tang of the blade. Patinaed brass guards and brass pommels compliment the intricate woodgrain patterns.
Kershaw offered the knives individually but also offered a 3 piece set of all 3 models with matching numbers. Thbis box set (still complete in tghe original display / carrying case) feature the 4070 6" Bowie, 4071 7.5" Bowie and the 4072 9" Bowie.
There are some rust blemishes on all three blades and the 4070 (6" Bowie) appears to have been handled by greasy hands at some point and put back, putting semi permanent fingerprints on the blade. All three are still very beautiful and near mint with patina. All three are number matching ( 0276 )
