Henry Heinrich Frank Custom 2.5" Lockback Folder / Hand Engraved Bolsters & Pre Ban Elephant Ivory / Hand Engraved High Carbon
Heinrich "Henry" Frank was one of the first to engrave folders, and he is known for his quality and workmanship. His knives are very sought after and hard to obtain. Henry has been a member of the Knifemakers Guild since 1971, and is one of only twenty-five makers to be included in the prestigious Art Knife Invitational held each year. Henry only makes 6-8 knives per year.
This particular piece was custom made for a direct customer of Henry's in 1984. This is a stunning, hand made and engraved lockback folder. One of the few knives you can poses these days with real elephant ivory. The ornate engraving on the blade, bolsters and lock are both extremely complex and beautiful, really showing Henry's skills as a master engraver and knife maker.
We are the second owner of this fantastic piece and have the original correspondence letter for the commissioning and purchase of this knife which will be provided to the purchaser.
