Great Eastern Cutlery Easy Pocket Congress 2.375" Slip Joint Knife, Maroon Micarta / Satin 1095 ( Prev Owned )
The #62 Easy Pocket Congress from Great Eastern Cutlery, last seen in 2011. This classic, Congress pattern has a timeless look and feel with the traditional shallow concave back and shallow convex top that define the pattern and an "easy pocket" two-blade configuration: one Wharncliffe and one pen blade. A polished shield and bolsters add a touch of class while the contoured handle and dual satin blades are all business. This Tidioute version comes with maroon micarta covers and shield.
Blade: The #62 Easy Pocket Congress comes with two blades situated at opposite ends of the handle. The primary blade is a mid-size, flat ground Wharncliffe blade for tackling the heavy work as well as detail work when whittling and woodworking and a flat ground pen blade for finer work. Both 1095 high carbon steel blades open with a snappy half stop via a classic nail nick and have a fine satin finish. Both blades sport a subtle top swedge for style and performance.
Handle: Maroon Micarta handle scales are fitted perfectly between the dual nickel silver bolsters of the gently curving handle which tapers slightly toward either end. The Micarta offers a rich, natural maroon color, comfort and traction in the hand. All nickel silver has a fine finish on the #62 including the Shield. Brass liners and pins round out construction.
