Gerber Classic Al Mar Custom Series 3" Hunter, Ebony / Stainless Steel ( Pre Owned )

This particular Gerber is a little special. Designed by Al Mar back when he worked at Gerber back in the mid 1970's and released as a limited run from 1976-1978. The big deal here is that this has a claimed(by Gerber) Rockwell Hardness of 60-62, which back in the 70's was insane. It also has a high chromium content coating of some sort on the blade making the surface a stainless like finish. Its a really interesting little blade and its surprising they didn't keep making them in this config. This knife appears to never have been carried or used and comes from a private collection.
