Fairbairn Sykes NATO 1976 3rd Pattern 7" Commando Dagger / Alloy Handle / Blackened High Carbon ( Pre Owned )
Product Details

The Fairbairn Sykes British commando knife is a double-edged knife with a cast bronze grip developed by William Ewart Fairbairn and Eric Anthony Sykes before World War II. It was made famous during the War when issued to British Commandos, including the SAS. Although the Fairbairn-Sykes knife is now of interest mainly to collectors, because of its sleek lines and its commando associations it still remains in production today.

This knife was designed exclusively for surprise attack and fighting. The slender blade can easily penetrate a ribcage and the vase handle grants precise grip. The double-edged blade is integral to its design.

The balance of a Fairbairn-Sykes is a crucial part of the design and it takes careful forging and production to ensure that the knife balances exactly as designed. The hilt should fit easily in the hand and the blade should not be so heavy that it tends to drag the hilt from the fingers in a loose grip. The knives come in the original worn leather sheath.

This is a 3rd pattern Fairbairn-Sykes fighting knife manufactured in 1976 in Sheffield England. One side of the blade guard is marked "NATO No 4658827 1976". The other side of the blade guard is marked "SHEFFIELD ENGLAND".This knife and its scabbard are both in like-new condition. The handle shows some slight rubbing from rubbing against the scabbard.

This is a pre owned knife. The knife pictured is the actual knife for sale. Comes as pictured with scabbard.
