Yangtze Jack
Slim and sleek; those are the words that I would use to describe the Emerson Yangtze Jack.
Why did I name it the Yangtze Jack? Because when I designed the knife, for some reason, it immediately popped into my head a movie that I had seen many, many years ago starring Steve McQueen called the Sand Pebbles.Back in the 1920s the United States Navy gunboats patrolled the Yangtze River in an effort to protect the civilian population, Chinese civilians and Western civilians, who were working in China, from being harmed during the conflict between Nationalist Chinese leader, Chiang Kai-Shek, and Chinese tribal war Lords.
So, the US Navy was sent there. They patrolled the Yangtze River. And when I designed this knife, it had a definite far-Eastern look to it. The movie popped into my head. It took on the Yangtze River, and I called it the Yangtze Jack.
It's got a nice slim three and a third inch long blade and the overall length is 7.9 inches. When it's closed, it's 4.5 inches long. It's a perfect pocketknife and the design is really very efficient and minimalist. With that style blade you'll be able to use it for a myriad of uses.
