Scandinavian knives are usually simple knives with a simple pouch style belt sheath. They have many different variations, depending on the country and the culture from which they come but they all share the same "Scandi Grind" on the blade. A true Scandinavian knife is beautiful in both form and function and Bark River Knives has really brought out these two characteristics in a big way with this Scandi knife.The design and manufacturing of this beautiful knife has obviously taken great time and careful effort but the wait has been certainly worth it!This fine knife features a true, traditional style Scandinavian pattern with segmented handle spacers of Micarta and stainless steel and a Micarta pommel. It is constructed the same way the original Scandinavian knives were made with a full length tapered tang and attached with a stainless steel custom bolt to the tang that is fully recessed into the pommel. This design allows for a very beautiful handle and a very durable one as well. The cutting edge could be considered somewhat of a hybrid since it is a combination of convex and Scandi edges. The convex cutting edge combined with the thickness of the Scandi grind and CPM-3V steel provides for excellent edge retention and a knife that will keep on cutting. The Bark River Knives Scandi knife is very comfortable in the hand and will prove itself as a tireless worker weather you are making fuzz sticks, a dead-fall trap or field dressing a deer.
